Kids say the darndest things
This past Saturday morning, Wes and I were busy picking the house up. We had Tarzan on for kids. In the beginning of the movie there is a part where a Gorilla is fighting a cheetah and it falls out of a tree I'm assuming to it's death. Brady comes running into Wes and I and proceeds the following conversation. "Mommy, Daddy, Oh no does that cheetah die in Tarzan?" I say, " I'm not sure buddy, maybe." Brady says, "It's ok Mom, the cheetah will be resurected." And walks out of the room. Wes and I look at eachother with laughter and amazement in our eyes. Who is this kid? I guess he really is listening. Oh how we love him.
Happiest Place on Earth
We are spoiled to live so close to Disneyland. We have the luxury of having annual passes. So as often as our busy lives allow, we like to escape for the day. We went this pass week with Nanny. The weather was beautiful and the kids were great. Had to get this one last trip in before the summer crowds hit. Brady of course loves "The Scariest Buzz" (Brady's words) ride. He says he got 79 points this last time. He is so fun. Coleman just points his arm vigorously and yells in excitement.

The Broken Arm

What a crazy week we have had. Started with me leaving the fam for my Young Women camp out on Friday night and returning Saturday morning with the stomach flu. Yuck!! Wes being the great Dad that he is tried to keep the kids away and out of the house. So off to the park they went on their bikes. Brady fell off of that zip line contraption at the park landing him in the ER with a broken arm. Wes was quite the hero. Manning both kids by himself and managing to get Coleman down for a nap and to the hospital with Brady, while I was still barfing. Brady is the toughest little guy ever. He has been such a trooper. They sent him home in a splint and told us to go to the ortho on Monday. So to the ortho we went. My biggest concern was "How am I going to keep this cast from smelling?" Well lucky me, they have invented waterproof cast, for those of us with this issue. Brady was so excited about his blue cast. I was very thrilled it was from the elbow down too. Then on Tuesday I went to the gym for my regular workout and put the boys in the kids club. About 30 min later I am paged back to the kids club. What do I find? Brady's cast in his hand. It fell off! When he took his sweatshirt off it came off too. So back to the ortho. I'm telling you, my little Brady is a trooper. He was so brave! Well long story short, he is now in a long cast from his shoulder down. Waterproof is not an option for long cast either! But most importantly he is thrilled about his blue cast! I hope we never experience another broken bone again.

Easter
Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, we were able to enjoy are semi annual general conference Easter weekend. This is a time when our church leaders speak to us over a course of two days. It is something I always look forward to. This weekend was no different. I enjoy hearing the words of our latter day prophets. I especially look forward to the council and testimonies they share. This weekend was extra special because Easter happened to fall on the same weekend. A time to remember the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. A time to contemplate and give praise to the life He freely gave so I might return to live with Him and my Heavenly Father again. The atonement has made it possible for imperfect me to repent and continually strive to keep the commandments. Where I fall short he is there to help me improve. I know that my Savior knows me individually. He knows my every thought, my every need, and my every desire. He holds me up when I am down and carries my burdens and pains when I can no longer carry them on my own. I feel His love every where around me. As I listened to conference, I began to notice a common thread or theme between the speakers. The theme being, Protect the Family! Be a good Mother, Father, Grandparent, child, and so on. Satan will attack the family unit until he wins, so we need to put up our walls and put on our armor and fight like nobodies business. I am so grateful to have the sacred role of being a mother. What would my life be with out my two little ones? Without Wes? Oh how lucky I am. Here are some pictures of the kids searching for easter eggs. They weren't that into it. Brady would rather be jumping on the trampoline and Coleman would rather be playing with a ball. Fine with me. Brady did however get quite excited about the easter bunny. His words, " That silly Bunny got all crazy in my house with string. He wrapped it around things and like I had to find my basket." The Easter Bunny ties a string to the kids door and they have to follow it to there basket. Simple, yet so thrilling for a 3 yr old.

Brady-ism's

This little boy keeps us laughing all day long. I don't want to forget some of the cute/funny things he says, so I will write the ones at front of my mind.
"Mom, I just killed a lizard and its eyes are squishing out. Is that a bad choice?"
"Mom, does Jesus have a button that makes the sun go down and the moon come up?"
This next one is usually said when coleman is bugging him.
"Mom, Coleman says he's ready for a nap. Put him in his crib please."
At least he's polite about it, right?
When I raise my voice this is usually the reaction I get.
"Jesus is going to be very mad at you because you are not making the right choice. Your voice is yelling at me!"
Wes and I found a brochure on our winshield and concluded that our neighbor Rodney must have left it for us. Brady pipes up in the back seat saying, "That silly old Rodney."
He wants to know everything! His little brain never stops. He is always talking and going 100 mph. Who's son is he? haha. Love this little guy to pieces!
Coleman
Yeah!! is his new favorite word. "Coleman, do you want to go outside?" "Yeah!", "Coleman, do you want a baba (bottle)?" "Yeah!", "Coleman, do you want to go bye bye?" "Yeah!". Try to imagine his cute little face scrunched up in pure excitement as he yells, "YEAH!". He is so fun to be around. You can't help but want to squeeze him when he's in arms reach. As he runs around the house his big cheeks jiggle and I find myself kissing them to no end. He has dicovered that the quickest way to get a reaction is chomping down with his teeth. He's giving Brady a run for his money. I love my little Mr. Mash(aka Coleman)!!

Fresh Start
I have recently been thinking much about what I am forgetting. I don't ever want to forget all the experiences and memories our family is and has been creating. So today I am recomitting myself to my blog. I'm not quite sure why this blogging thing has been so hard, but I am now looking at it as my personal journal. A place where I can just be me. A place where I can share whatever. A place where I can vent. Even a place to praise and express gratitude. It's my own place where I can brag about my kids if I want to. I enjoy being able to put it all out there for anyone to read...but really and truly, when it comes down to it, this is all just for me and my family. My blog is my journal. When these post are long forgotten by my readers - I can just imagine Brady and Coleman - in their teens, or with their children - going back through the archives, or flipping through the volumes of blog books chronicled by year. I can imagine them reading about the day they took their first little steps, or their very first birthday, their interactions with each other, funny things that they said, and heartwarming things that they did. I would give anything for my own mother's "blog" - just something, anything - that might take me back to my perfect childhood. I think that's what disturbs me the most about my recent respite from blogging...it's knowing that in a few months time, possibly a year or two, maybe more - the events and happenings of the past couple of months, will most likely be distant in my memory...maybe even fade completely. That's why right here and now, I'm recommitting myself to my blog...my journal. I'll do my best to recap some of the highlights from the past month or two, as well as resolve to never again allow such a significant lapse between entries. And really, not that any of you care all that much whether or not I blog, or for that matter, the frequency of my posts...but I care because it's my life, and it's about my family...and because, possibly - in our not so distant future - this here blog, will be a very important link to our past. So here"s to a fresh start.

Pre- School!
We have been talking about Busy Bee academy for quite some time in the Jones house. Brady has anxiously awaited this day (as have I). Brady is one of many students at the cutest pre-school ever! He goes two days a week for 3.5 hours! Heaven! I was told that Brady needed to wear tennis shoes to school and knew that this would be a challenge. For those of you who know Brady, he is quite set in his ways. Flip flops are the only shoe in his universe. I have tried several shoes and none have been to his liking. I lost lots of sleep trying to figure out how to get him in shoes. I decided that I would take him to the mall and let him pick out his very own shoes. Off to Nordstrom we went. I showed him the table with his size and told him to pick out his very own shoes. He is my son, so of course he picked out the cutest tie up navy blue vans. The girl measured his foot and pulled the right size. We tried them on and he was set. When we arrived to school he was asking all the kids if they liked his "awesome" shoes. Wes and I couldn't stop laughing. he was a little hesitant as it was time for him to say bye, but he was a champ and followed the rest of the kids to the jungle gym. I could hardly wait to pick him up and celebrate his first day. As he came out the gate he ran into my arms and I almost cried. Pathetic I know, but I know the day he doesn't need me or I'm embarrassing to him is just around the corner. So when he ran out with his arms open I melted. He laid his head on my shoulder and said "I'm so tired. I want chocolate milk and cartoons." So I threw my ideas of celebrating out the window and headed home for some good snuggle time with my Bradester. All in all, day one was a success. Where has time gone?

Now that he is 9 months....
I am obviously very bad at this whole blogging thing. I can't believe that my sweet baby Coleman is 9 months and there is nothing here to show of it. Just wanted to quiclky add some photos of my two little guys. We have been having lots of fun this summer with friends and family. Most people that see my blog I see or talk to on a daily basis, so this is for those of you whom I don't see. We love you.

Coleman Wesley Jones
Nov.4, 2008 sure was a "day of change" for our family. We welcomed our beautiful little boy to the world. He weighed in at 9 lbs. and 21 in. long. He is such a happy baby. He eats, sleeps, and poops. He has brought so much love and joy to our family. Brady loves being a big brother. So far he has been nothing but wonderful. He wants to know where baby "Cumin" is at all times. He loves patting his head and pointing out all his facial features. He is very concerned whenever Coleman cries. It actually is very upsetting for Brady. A couple of times Brady has began to cry as well saying, "Baby Cumin OK, make him better mama." It has been so sweet to watch him develop a relationship with his baby brother. We feel so blessed by our Heavenly Father. He has entrusted us with two of his most precious spirits. We are loving every moment with our new addition.

Almost Time
So as we can all see it has been quite some time since my last blog. I am horrible at this stuff. I have so much going on that I don't even have time to think about blogging. So I figure I should give an update before the little one arrives.
We have been busy getting ready for the little one to arrive. His nursery is complete! Thanks to Nanny! She made all the bedding and put together the crib. My poor husband is crazy busy at work, and has had no time. So Nanny to the rescue. His room is all done up in old fashion cars, trucks, and trains. What else could a little boy ask for? Only 3 more weeks. My C-section is scheduled for Nov. 4th, and don't worry we have already filled out our absentee ballots.
Brady is growing so fast. He definitely is not our baby any more. He talks to us just like an adult. We are amazed at the things he picks up on. He talks my ear off all day long! He wants to know what everything is. A few weeks ago he asked me where the water in the bath tub goes when I drain it. I had to say "what?" a few times because, I was so surprised that his mind could comprehend something like that. I told him that the water goes bye bye to the fishies. So know every time we see water he asks me if it also goes bye bye to the fishies. The other night Wes, Brady and I were going to Target, and as we pulled in Brady said " Mom we going to Target?" Wes and I started cracking up that he knew the name of the store. Wes has since limited my trips to Target. Brady is beginning to be aware that the baby will be here soon. Once we set the nursery up his little brain grasped the concept. Every now and then he will go in the nursery and look for the baby. Brady is going to be such a helper and a great big brother.
As most of you know this is my favorite time of year. I love the fall. I wish it were just a little cooler though! It has been so fun to decorate for Halloween and Brady get excited every time he sees a "punkin" or a "spooky ghos." He had a blast at the pumpkin patch! He drove around a John Deer tractor and actually did pretty well. He was very determined to find just the right pumpkin. After 10 minutes of changing his mind a thousand times, Daddy helped him pick just the right one.
We feel so blessed at this time in our lives. We our so grateful for all that we have. We are surrounded by family and friends, who we love dearly and are so good to us. I am overwhelmed by the love I feel from those around me each day. I have the most patient and loving husband. I would be lost with out him and I am so grateful for all that he does.

The 4th, The OC Fair, It's a boy, and so much more...
So I was looking back at my past blogs and I realized that I never shared baby #2 is another boy. After the initial shock of hearing "it's another boy!" I am quite excited. Reasons to be excited, 1. Brady will have a brother close in age and as they grow up they will be best buds. 2. I am the only girl and therefore I deserve to spoil my self with girly things such as pedicures. 3. Brady is a big boy so I wont be as afraid of him hurting the baby. There are lots more reasons, but most of all he is healthy and we can't wait to meet him.
We also had a fantastic fourth. Wes has been working lots of hours so we were excited to have a three day weekend together. We had his family down for some good old fourth of July fun. Wes BBQ'd some delicious hamburgers. We had all the festive fixings. Potatoe salad, watermelon, and corn. After the BBQ we walked over to the park to enjoy our city fire works. It was lots of fun. We layed out blankets and enjoyed some smash ball, frisbee, and delicious homemade ice cream (made by Wes' Mom) while we waited. This was Brady's first year to really understand what fire works were. He kept calling them fire trucks, telling us they go "boom boom in the sky." He made sure to stay nice and close during the fire works. At the end of the day we were pooped.
We also got to spend a fun evening at the fair. I have fond memories of the fair when I was younger. So I convinced Wes, Aunt Amanda, and Uncle Chris to join Brady and I. I guess when I was young and Dad was footing the bill no wonder I loved the fair. I can't believe how expensive everything is. We paid nine dollars to go in and eat really good but expensive greasy food. Brady loved the petting zoo and the animal exhibits. Amanda and I liked the home show. There's nothing better than seeing all those TV infomercials up close and personal. We enjoyed yummy BBq corn for $4 an ear and some really good pulled pork sandwiches. We passed on the rides because we have season passes to disney land and were not about to fork out $10 for a bee ride. On our way out we all enjoyed 25 cent foot massage from those vibrating chairs. All in all we had a fun night out and always love hanging out with Chris and Amanda.

Fun with the Fam
Well this past week we were living it up at the beach. My Mom's entire family gathered to celebrate two incredible people. My Grandparents. We celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Can you believe that? In 60 years they have had 3 children,10 grand children, and 9 almost 10 great grand children. Everybody was there minus a few spouses. How lucky we are to still be able to get together and have so much fun. We stayed at the Catamaran resort in San Diego. It was just perfect, especially for all the little ones. They had fish ponds and ducks all over the resort. Brady loved chasing the ducks with his cousins. Every morning he would wake up and ask for the ducks or bubba (his cousin). the resort was right on the bay and across the street from the beach. It was just perfect! Some of the high lights would be my 80 year old Grandma para sailing, being with my cousins, playing on the beach, going to the aquarium, Brady's first boat ride, and watching Brady interact with all the cousins. Thanks for the fun time Grandma and Grandpa. I love you!

To Cute to Handle
Mud Run
A couple of weekends ago Wes ran a race in Oceanside. We went down friday night and stayed in a hotel with a bunch of our fiends. It's always fun to get away. The race was saturday morning at Camp Penelton. It was a 6 mile race ran in the mud. He had lots of hills to climb, walls to jump, and mud ponds to swim through. Sounds fun huh? Well he did great and I am so proud of him!

Brady turned two!
Oh what a fun day we had. Brady turned two on June 1st. I can't believe what a big boy he is turning in to. I love him so much and I am so thankful for his little spirit. He brings so much love and laughter into our home. He definitely had no concept of what a birthday meant prior to his big day. We would ask if he was going to have a birthday and sometimes he would say yes and sometimes he would say no. Wes and I wanted to make his day special regardless if he knew or not. So the night before Wes and I hung streamers and balloons in the family room. In the morning we snuck into his room with a plate of donut holes and two candles. He was so excited! He grinned from ear to ear while repeating the words "hot, mama, hot." Hot means fire in his two year old brain. He had so much fun blowing them out. When we took him out of the crib he came running out to the family room and was in for more excitement when he discovered the decorations. Needless to say by the end of the day he was saying "happy birthday." We are lucky to live so close to family and were able to have everyone over to celebrate.
