Almost Time

So as we can all see it has been quite some time since my last blog. I am horrible at this stuff. I have so much going on that I don't even have time to think about blogging. So I figure I should give an update before the little one arrives.

We have been busy getting ready for the little one to arrive. His nursery is complete! Thanks to Nanny! She made all the bedding and put together the crib. My poor husband is crazy busy at work, and has had no time. So Nanny to the rescue. His room is all done up in old fashion cars, trucks, and trains. What else could a little boy ask for? Only 3 more weeks. My C-section is scheduled for Nov. 4th, and don't worry we have already filled out our absentee ballots.

Brady is growing so fast. He definitely is not our baby any more. He talks to us just like an adult. We are amazed at the things he picks up on. He talks my ear off all day long! He wants to know what everything is. A few weeks ago he asked me where the water in the bath tub goes when I drain it. I had to say "what?" a few times because, I was so surprised that his mind could comprehend something like that. I told him that the water goes bye bye to the fishies. So know every time we see water he asks me if it also goes bye bye to the fishies. The other night Wes, Brady and I were going to Target, and as we pulled in Brady said " Mom we going to Target?" Wes and I started cracking up that he knew the name of the store. Wes has since limited my trips to Target. Brady is beginning to be aware that the baby will be here soon. Once we set the nursery up his little brain grasped the concept. Every now and then he will go in the nursery and look for the baby. Brady is going to be such a helper and a great big brother.

As most of you know this is my favorite time of year. I love the fall. I wish it were just a little cooler though! It has been so fun to decorate for Halloween and Brady get excited every time he sees a "punkin" or a "spooky ghos." He had a blast at the pumpkin patch! He drove around a John Deer tractor and actually did pretty well. He was very determined to find just the right pumpkin. After 10 minutes of changing his mind a thousand times, Daddy helped him pick just the right one.

We feel so blessed at this time in our lives. We our so grateful for all that we have. We are surrounded by family and friends, who we love dearly and are so good to us. I am overwhelmed by the love I feel from those around me each day. I have the most patient and loving husband. I would be lost with out him and I am so grateful for all that he does.

The 4th, The OC Fair, It's a boy, and so much more...

So I was looking back at my past blogs and I realized that I never shared baby #2 is another boy. After the initial shock of hearing "it's another boy!" I am quite excited. Reasons to be excited, 1. Brady will have a brother close in age and as they grow up they will be best buds. 2. I am the only girl and therefore I deserve to spoil my self with girly things such as pedicures. 3. Brady is a big boy so I wont be as afraid of him hurting the baby. There are lots more reasons, but most of all he is healthy and we can't wait to meet him.

We also had a fantastic fourth. Wes has been working lots of hours so we were excited to have a three day weekend together. We had his family down for some good old fourth of July fun. Wes BBQ'd some delicious hamburgers. We had all the festive fixings. Potatoe salad, watermelon, and corn. After the BBQ we walked over to the park to enjoy our city fire works. It was lots of fun. We layed out blankets and enjoyed some smash ball, frisbee, and delicious homemade ice cream (made by Wes' Mom) while we waited. This was Brady's first year to really understand what fire works were. He kept calling them fire trucks, telling us they go "boom boom in the sky." He made sure to stay nice and close during the fire works. At the end of the day we were pooped.

We also got to spend a fun evening at the fair. I have fond memories of the fair when I was younger. So I convinced Wes, Aunt Amanda, and Uncle Chris to join Brady and I. I guess when I was young and Dad was footing the bill no wonder I loved the fair. I can't believe how expensive everything is. We paid nine dollars to go in and eat really good but expensive greasy food. Brady loved the petting zoo and the animal exhibits. Amanda and I liked the home show. There's nothing better than seeing all those TV infomercials up close and personal. We enjoyed yummy BBq corn for $4 an ear and some really good pulled pork sandwiches. We passed on the rides because we have season passes to disney land and were not about to fork out $10 for a bee ride. On our way out we all enjoyed 25 cent foot massage from those vibrating chairs. All in all we had a fun night out and always love hanging out with Chris and Amanda.

Fun with the Fam

Well this past week we were living it up at the beach. My Mom's entire family gathered to celebrate two incredible people. My Grandparents. We celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Can you believe that? In 60 years they have had 3 children,10 grand children, and 9 almost 10 great grand children. Everybody was there minus a few spouses. How lucky we are to still be able to get together and have so much fun. We stayed at the Catamaran resort in San Diego. It was just perfect, especially for all the little ones. They had fish ponds and ducks all over the resort. Brady loved chasing the ducks with his cousins. Every morning he would wake up and ask for the ducks or bubba (his cousin). the resort was right on the bay and across the street from the beach. It was just perfect! Some of the high lights would be my 80 year old Grandma para sailing, being with my cousins, playing on the beach, going to the aquarium, Brady's first boat ride, and watching Brady interact with all the cousins. Thanks for the fun time Grandma and Grandpa. I love you!

To Cute to Handle

I was looking through my camera and I came across a few cute pictures of Brady. He is to cute to handle. Aunt Janelle calls him her "little squish." That's the perfect name because every time you see him you just want to squeeze him and kiss his cheeks.

Mud Run

A couple of weekends ago Wes ran a race in Oceanside. We went down friday night and stayed in a hotel with a bunch of our fiends. It's always fun to get away. The race was saturday morning at Camp Penelton. It was a 6 mile race ran in the mud. He had lots of hills to climb, walls to jump, and mud ponds to swim through. Sounds fun huh? Well he did great and I am so proud of him!

Brady turned two!

Oh what a fun day we had. Brady turned two on June 1st. I can't believe what a big boy he is turning in to. I love him so much and I am so thankful for his little spirit. He brings so much love and laughter into our home. He definitely had no concept of what a birthday meant prior to his big day. We would ask if he was going to have a birthday and sometimes he would say yes and sometimes he would say no. Wes and I wanted to make his day special regardless if he knew or not. So the night before Wes and I hung streamers and balloons in the family room. In the morning we snuck into his room with a plate of donut holes and two candles. He was so excited! He grinned from ear to ear while repeating the words "hot, mama, hot." Hot means fire in his two year old brain. He had so much fun blowing them out. When we took him out of the crib he came running out to the family room and was in for more excitement when he discovered the decorations. Needless to say by the end of the day he was saying "happy birthday." We are lucky to live so close to family and were able to have everyone over to celebrate.
